The living room
A mature estate does not mean that its individual residences have to also look dated. Designer Darick Yau took on this project, rising to the challenge that he could transport visitors from the mature outlook of the estate into a fresh, modern living space that is now the home of a happy family.
The trick to do so is to add a couple of elements that bring freshness and modern feeling to the room. Of course, another goal is to reduce the unnecessary elements into the rooms, and provide as much space for the room to breathe as possible.
Pictures and artistic elements dominate the interior, and rightfully so. Pictures are one of the best and simplest ways to refresh a space, and give it a new modern outlook. Another trick that the designer has pulled out of his sleeve is wallpapers, but playful and vivid wallpapers.
For the color scheme, the designer sticks to the basis, which is white, black and in many cases, brown. While black and white are a common combination, brown is thrown in there to separate them, and to provide the much required contrast.
