18 Nov A High Ceiling With Raised Platform Adds Elegance At Blk 93 SkyTerrace Dawson
As with most apartments, the designer had a challenging time working with quite a small space. This is why he made the living area as the focal point of this home, by installing a raised platform which took advantage of the high ceiling of the flat. In an instant, the space looked elegant and fabulous.
The carpentry of the raised platform took center stage in the living area. Lighting illuminated the platform, giving it a more luxurious look, especially at night. The choice of furnishings and color scheme blended well.
For the TV feature wall, the designer installs a full floor to ceiling side cabinet, fitting the TV console in the middle. The cabinet allows for extra storage to fit in the home decor and other things of the home owners.
The kitchen and dining area were designed as one, maximizing the little space it had. THe kitchen is open and the bar counter top can double as a kitchen working area and dining table. The leather chairs add the elegance to the space, making it fully functional and practical for the young couple who owns the apartment.
The masters’ bedroom is spacious when compared to the living area. The designer used wood as the main material, giving the room a look that is modern yet classy. The cabinet which is also made of wood is not too big that it already eats up the whole room, and the lighting is ample enough to make the room look brighter even if the wooden laminates that were used are in the darker shade.
The TV feature wall adds the depth to the room because of its unusual cut and size. The huge bed that covers much of the space of the bedroom helped make the space look bigger.
The bathroom is modern in look and feel as the designer opted to make use of white as the main color scheme. Cabinets are sleek and can store bathroom accessories apart from the couple’s other things.
The glass panels in the shower area create the illusion of space for the small bathroom. Each square inch of the area was maximized to full use, not leaving any part bare.
The ceiling lighting in the living area makes the space look more dramatic. It adds the rich vibe while the carpet adds in the texture that is normally forgotten when designing a small apartment.
The use of cream colors and focus lighting for the apartment gave it the right ambiance and made the whole area look larger than it really was. The careful selection of furnishings to adorn the apartment was done tastefully so as not to make the place cramped.
